OPENING SYSTEMS
Our aluminium opening systems are the most complete choice when insulation, clean design and security matter. As the sash closes it compresses continuous perimeter gaskets, so air and water tightness is clearly superior to any other type of frame. Thermally broken profiles with polyamide bars dramatically reduce energy losses in windows and balcony doors.
Hinged and Tilt-and-Turn Windows
A simple hinged sash opens inwards and offers the largest possible opening for ventilation and cleaning. The tilt-and-turn mechanism adds a second position, tilting the sash from the top so the room ventilates in a controlled way without draughts. Double sashes with or without a mullion, arched and fixed sections complete the range.
Why Choose an Opening System
- Energy efficiency: low thermal transmittance values that cut heating and cooling costs.
- Acoustic comfort: airtight closing that limits street noise in dense urban areas.
- Security: multi-point locks and anti-burglary hardware for ground floor apartments.
- Easy maintenance: comfortable cleaning of the glass from both sides, even on upper floors.
For very wide openings compare with our sliding systems and with the folding systems range.
Frequently Asked Questions About Opening Systems
Why do hinged systems insulate better than sliding ones?
Because the sash presses against continuous perimeter gaskets, there are none of the unavoidable joints created along the tracks of a sliding frame. Air infiltration is practically eliminated, which improves both thermal and acoustic performance.
What exactly is a tilt-and-turn mechanism?
It is a mechanism that offers two operating positions with a single handle: full inward opening and tilting of the sash from the top. This way you ventilate the room in a controlled manner without the sash swinging in the wind.
Do inward opening sashes take up room space?
The sash needs a clear path towards the interior, so furniture and curtains must be planned accordingly. In narrow spaces we suggest tilt-only operation, single sashes or a combination with a fixed section.
Can the sashes be adjusted over time?
Yes, modern hardware allows three-dimensional adjustment, so the position of the sash and the pressure on the gaskets can be corrected. A single technician visit is usually enough to restore perfect operation.
What certificates accompany your frames?
Every unit is delivered with CE marking and a technical data sheet stating thermal transmittance, air permeability, water tightness and wind load resistance. These documents are also required for energy upgrade programmes.
