The curtain consists of aluminium slats filled with polyurethane foam, which keeps heat out in summer and warmth in during winter. Surface, Built-In or Insulated Box
A surface mounted box is easy to install on existing buildings without any construction work. A built-in box is integrated into the masonry during construction and remains completely invisible from inside. Insulated boxes with expanded polystyrene reduce the thermal losses created by a conventional shutter housing, which matters greatly in energy renovations.
Manual and Motorised Operation
- Strap or cord: the most economical solution for small and medium windows.
- Crank handle: ideal for heavy curtains and large balcony doors, with no power supply required.
- Electric motor: operation with a switch or remote control and the option of group control.
- Smart control: scheduling and connection to a mobile app or sun sensors.

How much do shutters help with energy saving?
A closed shutter creates a layer of still air in front of the glass and limits night-time losses. Together with an insulated box and energy efficient glazing, the improvement in the overall behaviour of the opening is clearly reflected in the bills.
Can a motor be added to an existing shutter?
In most cases yes. The technician checks the tube diameter, the weight of the curtain and the free space inside the box. Battery or solar powered motors are also available, so no new wiring is needed.
What should I do if the strap breaks or the shutter jams?
Strap replacement and mechanism repair are simple on-site tasks. Avoid forcing the curtain, because the tube can bend or the slats can come out of the guides, which increases the repair cost.
Do shutters really improve security?
Shutters with reinforced slats and anti-lift locks make external tampering considerably harder. They do not replace a certified anti-burglary frame, but they act as a strong first barrier, especially on ground floors and holiday homes.
